The powerful creative writing program encourages participants to explore experiences and possibilities to increase overall wellness. The free class is conducted by Colorado Humanities with funding through the National Endowment for the Arts. All materials provided.

We are thankful to The Gazette staff for spotlighting our efforts & those of our partners in caring for Veterans, Military & Families. Mt. Carmel has provided 8,000+ hours of traditional (individual & group) and non-traditional (art, yoga, tai-chi) therapy on-site. Partnerships with master’s programs in front range academia allow Mt. Carmel to develop future cohorts of clinicians culturally competent in caring for the mil/vet community.

Mt. Carmel Goes to War on MilSpouse Unemployment/Underemployment

Mt. Carmel, in partnership with KRDO News Radio and the MilHousing Network, conducted the National MilSpouse Career Summit on April 4. The live webcast from Mt. Carmel featured two panels of experts, resource providers and employers, who are working to turn the tide on national military spouse unemployment, currently 30 percent, and underemployment, currently 56 percent. A special thank-you to our panelists and partners for making this effort possible.
